”Lord, I Don’t Want To Die A Christian!” A Kandid Chat with Author Chandrika Phea

In this enlightening episode, I had the pleasure of sitting down with the multifaceted Chandrika D. Phea. Chandrika is an ordained reverend, triathlete, wellness coach, and Amazon Best-Selling Author. Her book, "Lord, I Don't Want to Die a Christian," sparked my curiosity and led to an in-depth discussion about her transformative experiences and spiritual journey.
Bishop Carlton Pearson wrote in the forward: "This book is kind of an underground railroad that has come above ground and is publicly helping people find freedom!

Key Points:

  • Chandrika's Life-Altering Trip to China: Chandrika shared her unexpected journey to China, where she was initially hired to teach and support college students. The trip was meant to address high rates of suicide and abortion by simply loving the students. This experience didn't lead to culture shock in China but rather upon her return to the States, where she felt disconnected from the rituals of Christianity.
  • Writing as a Path to Discovery: Chandrika's book was born out of her need to document her evolving thoughts on faith and religion. She expressed her desire to leave a legacy for future generations, encouraging them to be curious and question the established norms of Christianity.
  • The Drive-Thru Analogy: One of the most impactful parts of our conversation was Chandrika's analogy of Jesus working the drive-thru, emphasizing the importance of unconditional love and service without judgment or agenda.
  • Separating God from Christianity: Chandrika made a compelling distinction between her belief in God and the institution of Christianity. She explained how her relationship with God exists outside the confines of any religious structure.
  • Wellness Coaching: Chandrika's journey also led her to become a wellness coach, a passion that grew from her love of being active and connecting with nature.

This episode was a powerful reminder of the importance of questioning, exploring, and finding one's own path to spirituality. Chandrika's story is a testament to the freedom and growth that comes from stepping outside of traditional religious boundaries and embracing a direct, personal relationship with the divine.
Listeners, whether you're firmly rooted in your faith or seeking answers, this episode is a must-listen. Chandrika's insights might just inspire you to explore your own beliefs and the way you connect with the world around you.
