Semi-retired communication consultant; Male survivor of childhood sex abuse; Appointed board member of NYC-based MaleSurvivor.or

Ken Stockton is a semi-retired communications consultant/corporate strategist and writer. He is a tireless advocate for male sex abuse survivors, including himself. He has resided in Ann Arbor, MI since the mid-1970s. He childhood hometown was Trenton, NJ, where he played LL Baseball. His coach, Fred Wombwell, who now is 86 years old, was a serial sexual predator, who has privately and publicly admitted to this reality. Stockton was raped 400+ times by Wombwell, when Stockton was between the ages of 11 and 14. The assaults took place in the Trenton, NJ and nearby locations in PA and NY. In 2004, Stockton had a face-to-face meeting with his predator in a private legal mediation in NJ,. The mediation was overseen by a retired judge, and those in the meeting included the predator, his attorney, as well as Stockton and his local civil rights attorney who had pushed for the meeting. Stockton has suffered life-long harm and consequences as a result of his abuse -- PTSD, anxiety, anger, shame, sexual confusion, etc. He now is suing LL Baseball Inc. in Williamsport, PA, asserting that the organization was -- in his case -- complicit in enabling the abuse. This lawsuit was made possible thanks to legal changes in NJ allowing a two-year, look-back window to prevent the common statute of limitations barriers that prevent many adult victims from seeking accountability and justice. Here's a link to a Philadelphia Inquirer story (1/1/2012) outlining Stockton's healing journey.
